Travel quickly, easily and affordably to work
Would you also like to travel to work in the port in a relaxed way? And arrive on time more often, because you don’t have to wait for regular public transport or search for a parking space? Then choose one of the three new transport options: carpooling, vanpooling or the hopper, each with its own advantages.
Would you like to drive yourself? With carpooling or vanpooling you can also earn extra money. Prefer not to drive and relax during your journey? Choose carpooling or vanpooling as a passenger, or take the hopper and get off at a special hopper stop near your workplace. This way you decide what your commute looks like.
Until 1 July 2026 you travel completely free of charge. Until then — and afterwards — you will also receive a kilometre allowance from your employer.

- Complete the travel check and see which type of transport suits you best.
- Choose your option: carpooling, vanpooling or the hopper.
- Check whether your organisation participates; if not, inform your employer.
- Register directly with Nabogo (carpooling) or Vipre (vanpooling), or reserve your ride with EBS (hopper).
- Get in and travel comfortably and quickly to work.

Carpooling
Travel easily to work in the port with one or more passengers in your car or your colleague’s car. Find a colleague (or an employee from a nearby company) to share a ride with via the Nabogo app. Reservations can be made in advance or last-minute. As a driver, you help a colleague and earn €2 per trip per passenger + €0.10 per kilometre if your trip is longer than 10 kilometres. Carpooling is especially convenient for regular daytime working hours.

Hop into an 8-seater van and travel together with colleagues or people from your area. One volunteer driver receives €5 per trip, and the other passengers travel completely free for the first three months. Simply reserve your ride in advance, and the vanpool will pick you up at a convenient pick-up point near your home. A sociable, affordable and sustainable way to travel.
Register with Vipre
Hopper
The hopper is a minibus with a driver, travelling between Maassluis, Maasland viaduct, Spijkenisse centre, Brielle and several stops on the Maasvlakte, in the Botlek and at Europoort. The hopper only stops at locations where a reservation has been made. You can board and get off directly in front of your organisation. The hopper operates Monday to Friday from 05:00 to 09:30 and from 13:00 to 19:00.

Cost benefits
Until 1 July 2026 you travel completely free of charge. After that, your employer pays you a monthly travel allowance of €0.23 per kilometre, which you can use to arrange your own transport. This keeps it simple and affordable: you choose, your employer pays. Do you normally travel using your own car? There is a good chance you will actually save money with these new transport options.
As a driver, you can earn extra money with carpooling and vanpooling. With carpooling, you receive €2 per passenger per trip, plus €0.10 per kilometre for trips longer than 10 kilometres. With vanpooling, the driver receives €5 per trip.
